Up and Personal interview with Scott Alexander
Q: Scott a lot of people accuse you of being vain? How do you answer this?
I don’t consider myself vain!! I was very insecure growing up about my appearance and the thought or prospect of not being successful. I honestly believe we can all improve and achieve the dreams and visions that we set ourselves, through hard work and handling failures with a positive mind set. I personally have found a lot of strength from pursuing a fit and healthy lifestyle and love the challenge of training and improving my body. I never have or do see myself as perfect or indeed better than anyone else, when I look in the mirror I see my flaws and where I need to improve, and would like to think that I take a lot of time out to help or advise people around me!!!
Q: What in your eyes makes a person successful?
Successful people in my experience posse three main traits:-
1) A total relentless hunger and utter self belief, which to the masses can appear arrogant and cocky, as the goals and aspirations seem removed from what’s perceived as possible and realistic, yet successful people seem to use this negativity almost like fuel to help achieve their vision.
2) The ability to embrace failure as part of the journey and be able to evolve through it. Failure is a compulsory stage we all experience in many parts of our lives and even the most successful individuals experience failure regularly, the ability to handle this difficult and testing stage when everyone else would and advises you to give up, when you even begin to doubt yourself or even your very own existence, to then be able to use this seed born from failure and turn it and grow it into the roots of your success, that’s the hallmark of greatness…
3) To be almost possessed with a machine like work rate and tireless passion to succeed at every goal and target. If it was easy everyone would be super wealthy and successful... it's not and to work when your compatriots are sleeping, resting or out drinking is what sets certain people apart…
Q: Can anyone be successful?
Short answer is YES!!!! From meeting and being around so many talented and wonderful people, I firmly believe that everyone single person on this planet was born with an ace card, an ability/talent/skill/personality/look/intelligence or attribute which makes them totally unique and separates them from the rest, it's the gift you were given to become anything you want to be, success comes from knowing what YOUR ace card is and how to use it...
Q: Do you find happiness through Money?
When I started out I was obsessed with money and thought that it was the key to life and happiness. As you evolve, grow as a person and experience life, you learn the happiness and satisfaction from money is temporary. It also brings with it a lot of responsibility, stress and envy. Don’t get me wrong, I feel blessed to have seen, had and experienced things I could only once dream of, but money does not define the person. I find the most happiness in my life from spending time with my girlfriend, being around family and close friends and helping and seeing others achieve their fitness goals. I also love training and I enjoy setting new challenges and the happiness that can bring when you continue to be tested by life and find the correct path to follow…
Q: Would you consider yourself a failure if you lost Everything and were no longer a millionaire?
What people don’t realise is being a millionaire or a successful entrepreneur is not about the house, car, exotic holidays or mixing with the celebrity sect, Its about who you have to become to get there. To overcome your biggest insecurities and fears, to talk to large groups, to ask banks and investors to loan you money, to keep going when the closest people around you say it cant happen, to sacrifice and risk everything you have in this world. At first its scary, but when you do it and survive, you're no longer scared in the future. Now you can take away all my money, houses, cars, it would not matter, I now know how to create more of those things because of who I’ve become NOT what I possess…
